  • The nearest bus stop is approximately 1 mile away

  • The nearest train station is Buxton Train Station, and this is 2.4 miles away. There are accessible taxis at the station.

  • There is a car parking area / driveway with space for 3 cars. 

  • There is no on-street parking.

  • The car parking area is to the rear of the property and is accessed via a sloping driveway, which is best accessed by reversing in. 

  • The parking area is lit by an outside light with motion sensor. 

  • Parking is approximately 10 metres away from the rear entrance and 2 metres away from the garage doors, which open from the inside. 

  • The entrance to the Barn is at the side of the property, which is accessed by walking round past the front garden and front door, towards the side door. This door is hinged on the left and is 72cm wide. The keyhole is 90cm high. 

  • The owners endeavour to be there on arrival however if this is not possible the key to the door will be in a coded safety box. The location and code will be sent to you after booking, prior to your holiday. 


  • Bailey Flatt Barn is self catered accommodation. 

  • The front door is 72cm wide and the keyhole is 90cm high. 

  • Inside the front entrance there is a porch with hanging space for coats, boots and shoes. This is also accessible from inside the property. Please note access to the property is usually via the side door, and not the front door which leads to the porch. 

  • The side door opens into the kitchen, which has an uneven stone flat floor and a small step up to a seating area. The stairs lead from this seating area up to a small landing where there is a twin/king room on the left (this room has a sloping ceiling). 

  • There are a further two steps that lead up to a long landing. On the left is the master bedroom with en-suite bathroom, on the right is the main bathroom, and straight ahead there is one single bedroom and one double bedroom. 

  • The stair treads are 22cm high, 84cm wide and 25cm deep. 

  • The ceilings are quite low, as this is an old property; please take care in certain parts of the Barn. 

  • The Barn is heated by oil fired central heating throughout. There are two multifuel stoves - one in the lounge and one in the kitchen. There are radiators in each of the other rooms. A token amount of fuel will be supplied for your arrival, and extra logs and coal can be bought in Buxton. 

  • An information folder can be found in the property, and is produced in size 14 text. 

  • There is mobile phone reception and wifi at the Barn.  

  • This property is strictly no smoking throughout, including the use of electronic cigarettes. 


  • Lounge door is 72cm wide. 

  • There is a square table in the centre of the room measuring 90cm in length, 60cm in width and 30cm in height. 

  • There is a two seater red leather sofa and a six seater brown leather corner sofa. 

  • Flooring is wooden, and there is a stone hearth with multi fuel stove on. Fireguard is available. 

  • The furniture is not moveable. 

  • There are a selection of games in the cupboard in the twin bedroom to the left of the stairs. Please replace these when not in use. 

  • Teletext is available on the TV with the remote control. There is a Freeview box and DVD player. A CD player with radio and tape player are located in the seating area. 


  • There is a step between the kitchen and seating area which is 16cm high. 

  • The worktop height is standard, approximately 90cm high. 

  • The oven doors and drop down with a separate grill above, at a high level. 

  • There are Corian worktops with an insert sink bowl and drainer, with cupboards underneath and above. 

  • Lighting is from spotlights on the ceiling, and under-unit lighting. 

  • There is 60cm of free space between the furniture and worktops. 

  • There is good contrast between the floor, cupboards and surfaces. 

  • Facilities in the kitchen include fridge, dishwasher, microwave, oven, hob and grill.

  • A freezer and washing machine can be found in the garage, which there is a step down into. 

  • There is a heat detector alarm fitted. 


  • There is a smoke alarm fitted. 


  • The door width is 72cm. 

  • The bed height is approximately 60cm from the floor to the top of the mattress. 

  • Non-feather duvets and pillows are provided. 

  • There is wardrobe and cupboard space provided.

  • The space in the bathroom free of doors and furniture is 1 metre by 2 metres. 

  • The space either side of the toilet is 30cm

  • Flooring is wooden, with a bathmat. 

  • Facilities in the bathroom are bathtub, separate shower, toilet and sink with mirror. 


  • There is a large garden (grassed) area with lawn-level trampoline, barbecue and hot tub to the rear of the property. 

  • There is decking overlooking an ornamental pond to the front of the property. This decking may be slippery when wet. 

  • There is a standard sized front loading washing machine and utility sink in the garage. 

  • There is a secure bike chain ground anchor in the garage.
